Director General of Artificial Intelligence at the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Civil Service, she leads Spain's representation before the EU on AI matters and the proposal and implementation of public policies in Spain related to AI and other digital technologies. Her responsibilities cover regulatory development and coordination, the preservation of rights in this field, and the creation of spaces for public debate on the risks and benefits of these technologies. She also manages AI promotion programmes in the field of R&D&I, and promotes AI adoption in productive sectors and Public Administrations.

Prior to taking up her current position, she worked in the private sector driving the digitalisation of SMEs and startups. In the public sector, she served as Chief of Staff at the State Secretariat for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, was a member of the Boards of Directors of Red.es, INCIBE, CDTI and AESIA, served as Deputy Director General for the Coordination of European Funds at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation — overseeing the execution of funds earmarked for digitalisation under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan — and was a lecturer at INAP.

Aleida holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Valladolid, completed the Leadership Programme for Public Management at IESE Business School, and is a member of the Senior Corps of Information Systems and Technologies and the Information Systems and IT Management Corps of the General State Administration.

She currently also sits on the boards of the Spanish Research Agency (AEI), SETT and AESIA.

Antes de asumir su actual puesto, se desempeñó en el sector privado impulsando la digitalización de las pymes y startups; y en el sector público ocupó roles como Directora de Gabinete en la Secretaría de Estado de Digitalización e Inteligencia Artificial, fue miembro de los Consejos de Administración de Red.es, INCIBE, CDTI, y AESIA, fue Subdirectora General de Coordinación de Fondos Europeos en el Ministerio de Asuntos Económicos y Transformación Digital, supervisando la ejecución de fondos destinados a la digitalización del Plan de Recuperación Transformación y Resiliencia, y profesora del INAP.

Aleida es Ingeniera de Telecomunicaciones por la Universidad de Valladolid, realizó el Programa de Liderazgo para la Gestión Pública en IESE Business School, y pertenece al Cuerpo Superior de Sistemas y Tecnologías de la Información y al Cuerpo de Gestión de Sistemas e Informática de la Administración General del Estado.

Actualmente, se encuentra además en los consejos de la agencia española de investigación AEI, la SETT y AESIA.
