Gabriel López Serrano

Gabriel López has an extensive career spanning over 20 years in the legal and IT sectors, developed at various international companies. In 2014, he joined Microsoft as a legal advisor and, eight months later, assumed the position of lawyer and Director of Government Affairs for the subsidiary. In this role, Gabriel leads strategies to promote regulations and legislation that bring technology to the greatest number of people and institutions, fostering a positive impact on Microsoft's products, operations, partners, and customers, while collaborating with relevant associations and stakeholders. He is also responsible for negotiating and responding to complex regulatory issues in the development of the company's strategy.

Prior to joining Microsoft, he served as Head of Regulatory Affairs, specializing in international transactions and regulation in the Americas for AT&T Corp. He later joined Nokia Corp. as Senior Lawyer and Director of Public Policy for Southern Europe.

Currently, he participates in various academic projects at the University of Valencia, the Foundation for Research on Law and Business (FIDE), and the Elcano Royal Institute, and is a member of the Healthcare Data Innovation Council.

He is also president of the Digital Policy Commission for AMETIC (the employers' association representing the digital technology industry in Spain) and a member of the Board of Directors of Adigital.

Gabriel López is a member of the Madrid Bar Association and holds a Master's degree in Administrative Law and Regulation from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM). He has pursued postgraduate studies at Stanford University (California) and University College Dublin (Ireland), IE Business School in Madrid, the European Academy of Law in Trier (Germany), Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.), and the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) in Mexico City.
